Yes Kiru was an "overworlder." Remember that it is a tribe not a race. Kiru is the ancestor of Chaor(in other words Kiru could be Chaor's great great grandfather or something). Kiru was a strong pround leader of the overworld tribe. Kiru City was indeed named after him. Also he was good friends with Najarin.
